Customer FAQ
Everything you need to know about LoopTag labels, accounts, and how it all works.
Labels and QR Codes
Do I need a different label for each item?
Nope! Every label in your pack shares the same QR code, which is unique to your child. You can stick them on as many items as you like. When someone scans any label, they'll be taken straight to your child's profile.
Can I use the same labels for more than one child?
No, each child gets their own unique QR code and their own label pack. If you mix labels between children, the wrong profile will come up when something is scanned. Keep each child's pack separate and you're good to go.
What if I run out of labels?
Just order another pack. All new labels will have the same QR code as your original pack and will work straight away with no extra setup needed.
Can I deactivate just one label?
Unfortunately not. Because all your labels share one QR code, you can't switch off a single label without switching them all off. If there's a label you don't want active anymore, the easiest thing to do is just peel it off.
What if a pack of unused labels gets lost before I put them on anything?
Get in touch with us and we can deactivate that QR code and send out a replacement pack. It's worth doing quickly so that if a stranger finds the pack and scans a label, they can't reach your profile.
Handing Down Items
What do I do with LoopTag labels when I hand down clothing?
Peel the label off before you pass the item on. The labels are removable and they belong to your child, not to the item. You can reuse them or just throw them away.
What if I forget and pass something on with a label still on it?
If someone scans it, you'll get a notification. You can then message the finder through LoopTag to let them know the situation. You don't need to deactivate your child's QR code or do anything else.
Multiple Children and Family Accounts
We have more than one child. How does that work?
Each child has their own QR code and their own label pack. A family with three kids will have three different codes. The app makes it clear which pack belongs to which child, so just keep them separate and everything will work as it should.
Can both parents get notifications?
Yes. You can link two parents or guardians to the same family account and both will receive notifications when something is found. You can choose a primary responder and adjust each person's notification settings from within the account.
Schools
My child's school already uses LoopTag. Do I need to set up a separate account?
No. If your child already has a LoopTag profile, their existing QR code can be connected to the school's account with your permission. Your current labels keep working exactly as they always have and you stay in full control of your child's profile.
Account Management
What do I do when my child doesn't need LoopTag anymore?
You can deactivate your child's profile through the app whenever you're ready. After that, any label that gets scanned will show a simple neutral page rather than your child's profile. It's a good idea to peel the labels off items before you donate or pass them on.
